How to clean your Yoni Egg

Getting your Yoni egg for the first time can be an exciting experience and many women can't wait to use such an empowering tool.  As with anything that we put on or in our bodies your Yoni Egg should be cleaned before use.

As soon as you get your Yoni egg you should carefully inspect the surface using your eyes and hands in good lighting.   You want to ensure that your Yoni egg doesn't have any scratches, scrapes, chips, or cracks.  Some cracks on the inner part is normal for some stones but if you can feel an imperfection with your finger you should return the stone immediately DO NOT USE A DAMAGED YONI EGG!!!

Once you are certain that your Yoni egg has not been damaged the next step is to wash your Yoni egg.  One simple way to is to wash your egg a few times with warm soapy water, I suggest using whatever soap that you clean your Yoni (vagina) with.  If you don’t know what kind of soap to use look for an organic, gentle, non-GMO vegetable based or Castile soap, an unscented one is the best choice.

My preferred method of cleaning my Yoni egg is by boiling 2 cups of spring  water, once the water begins to boil take it off the heat, allow it to cool to a safe temperature (you should be able to touch the water without getting burned) then set the Yoni egg in the water for 15-20 minutes.  You can add 3 drops of oregano oil for extra antibacterial and antimicrobial protection.

A third way to clean your Yoni egg is by using Vodka.  I’m sure that is not what you expected but it is true.  A high proof, clear grain alcohol, like Everclear kills bacteria and mold.  You can grab a clean, new, spray bottle (8oz) add 4 oz. of high proof, clear grain alcohol and 4 oz. of spring water.  Shake before using, spray a lightly layer over the Yoni egg, let it air dry and rinse with spring water before use.

Once you have cleaned your Yoni egg it is ready to be used, although many women like to charge their crystal and bond with the stone before their first use, we will be posting a blog soon about charging the stones and bonding with them.

Your Yoni Egg should be cleaned after every use and stored in a safe place to avoid damaging the egg.

3 ways to use your Yoni Egg

3 Ways to use your Yoni Egg

Yoni eggs may seem like the hottest new trend in women's holistic health but the use of Yoni eggs is no pop culture fad.   The use of Yoni Eggs is actually a holistic preservation and treatment method that has been practiced for over two thousand years.  It was believed that a strong, healthy, and vital pelvic floor and vagina led to a strong life force and longevity.  Through the regular use of a Yoni egg many women being more balanced on a physical and emotional level.  Using a Yoni egg can teach a women about the inner workings of her body and empower her to release toxic energy that may be sitting stagnant in the vagina, uterus, and pelvic floor.

Kegels
The way that most women use yoni/jade eggs is to insert the egg (large side up) into the vagina and begin doing Kegel exercises.  If you don't know how to locate or exercise your Kegel muscles you can find out how by simply going to take a pee.  While using the restroom stop your urine mid flow, the muscles that you use to stop the urine are your Kegel muscles. So when you insert your yoni egg you contract and release those muscles in order to build strength in the pelvic floor and the vagina.

Yoni Breathing
Yoni breathing can help women to overcome anxiety, pain, and pelvic floor weakness associated with their yoni caused by sexual trauma, childbirth, STI's, and injury.  The egg is inserted in  the same manner as for doing Kegel exercises, next find a comfortable position laying on your back, sitting, or standing.  Focus your mind on your yoni and begin to take deep breaths, 4 counts inhale, hold for 2 counts, and 4 counts exhale.  During each inhale you want to contract the vaginal muscles and on each exhale you want to release the vaginal muscles.  Focus on making a connection between your breath and the contractions and releases until they flow.  With continued practice you will create a wave of energy that can help to heal from physical and emotional trauma associated with your Yoni.

Yoni Yoga
Yoni Yoga is a womb centered, healing, yoga practice that involves inserting the Yoni egg and doing specific yoga poses that have  therapeutic benefits for the vagina, uterus, and pelvis.  Yoni Yoga helps to build confidence, strengthen the vaginal muscles, and tone the uterus.
